Who we are
25 years ago, a New Guinean tribe was discovered living in tree houses 40 metres off the ground. They lived this way in an effort to escape a fierce tribe of headhunters â€“ the Citak [sahy-tak].
In 2008, we emerged from the recruitment jungle as a new tribe of bleeding-edge headhunters. Privately owned, weâ€™re based in Melbourne and have points of presence in Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. The demands of this fast-paced and competitive profession are why we only employ the most driven, enthusiastic and experienced people. Our leadership team strives to be the most highly skilled and market-aware in the industry.
Charles Young – Director
Charles commenced his headhunting career in 2005 after working in the Online Industry for 10 years. He worked for and co-founded a number of companies specializing in Online Media Sales, Web Development and Consulting, Internet Ad-Serving, AI, Data processing and Search Engine Development. Charles specialises in digital assignments and has previously placed Digital Executives, Creativeâ€™s, Project Managers, Producers, Software Engineers, Digital Marketing and Sales Executives as well as a variety of disciplines within the digital industry.
Nanda Pillai – Director
Nanda began his career in headhunting in 2005 after 17 years in the technology sector in the Asia Pacific region. Nandaâ€™s focus is within the Telecom sector with a particular emphasis in Business Development and Network Consulting. Nanda has worked on a number of successful assignments ranging from Manager through to VP level. Prior to joining Citak Nanda lead a team of Business Development Managers for a US Telecom vendor in Asia. Nanda was educated in Trinity College Dublin Ireland, majoring in Engineering, is multilingual and currently lives in Melbourne, Australia.
David Moffat – Non-Executive Director
David commenced his headhunting career in 1988 after 11 years as an officer in the Royal Navy where he worked in Naval Intelligence. David specializes in financial services with a particular focus on Fixed Income, Equity Capital Markets and Alternative Investments. David has worked with a number of multi-national tier one and tier two Financial Institutions across a range of executive roles from VP to Managing Director level. Prior to joining Citak, David worked for a UK listed search firm as their Country Manager of Japan. During his time in Tokyo he successfully completed a number of mandates including one of the largest team moves in the Tokyo market.
Ed de Crespigny – Consultant
Having studied a Degree in History at the University of Warwick, Ed started work in a leading purchasing consultancy in London and soon became caught up in the internet boom of the late 1990s. Due to a keen interest he began learning HTML and soon became an ASP.NET programmer and front-end developer. He has been involved in the Digital Online Industry as a web developer and designer for almost 15 years. He joined Citak in 2011 and is now honing his skills as a headhunter in the industry.
Tanu Mehta – Head of Research
Tanu commenced her career with the Knowledge Management Centre of Heidrick & Struggles in 2004, focusing majorly on the Consumer Practice catering to the Asia Pacific region. She joined the KMC as a Research Analyst and was promoted to become a Team leader in 2007. She has worked on complex projects which included Organization mappings, Research Blasts and Industry reports. As a Team Leader she was also involved in mentoring and training new hires. Tanu joined Citak in March 2009, and has graduated with a Masters Degree in Human Resources.
Shahbaz Arshad – Consultant
Upon completing his MBA in HR & Marketing, Shaz went on to work as a Headhunter for a well-known search firm in India. Shaz has worked for large multi-nationals such as Cisco Systems and Broadcom and has ten years experience in the IT industry. Specialising in IT Consulting, HR Management Services, Investment Consulting, Corporate Due-Diligence, Business Development and Green & Renewal Technology Shaz is Citak Consultingâ€™s man on the ground in Malaysia.
